Declaration of Principles

In the Name of the Essential One existing by Itself and in Itself, Eternal, Almighty God. Amen.

The Eglise Gnostique is not a new sect, but constitutes a part, albeit small, of the One Holy Universal Apostolic Church. She preserves her autonomy and her independence jealously with no intent to be placed under the obedience of any other Apostolic seat.

As with all regularly constituted bodies, she includes a solidly established Hierarchy and is managed by her ecumenical Presiding Bishop and by the Council composed of the Bishops and Apostolic Prefects spread out across both Hemispheres. She does not claim to be either Protestant or Roman, but Universal, Apostolic and Gnostic.

UNIVERSAL: claiming a universality strictly maintained throughout the centuries which are designated by Christian Gnosis.

APOSTOLIC: having scrupulously preserved the Apostolic Succession for which she provides as testimony the Apostolic Tables and the Antiquitates Antiochenae.

GNOSTIC: being a Church of Gnosis where the expansion of Knowledge reaches its highest degree of exaltation as much in esoteric domains as in exoteric. She is, therefore, a-dogmatic because all knowledge is evolutionary.

The Eglise Gnostique extols respect for Freedom of Conscience, Liberty of Thought, and Liberty of Being, all the while maintaining in her most orthodox lines the static and ritual form of the Sacraments and mysteries which adorn her exclusively Christian orientation.

The Eglise Gnostique has no public office and refuses all means of Propagation of the Christian Faith in its esoteric keys in mundane environments and by the usual methods.

The Eglise Gnostique has a goal exemplified by two particular Modes of action that, although modest in appearance, are nevertheless extremely useful:

1st - To maintain the traditional Gnostic and Christian Positions in places where Faith and Knowledge are particularly in danger of deviation: (Secret Societies which are of an illuminist character (Freemasonry, Martinism, Occultism, Theosophy, Rosicrucianism, etc…) spiritualistic or literary surroundings, etc.

2nd - To fight against demonic action in all its guises: Spells, Black Magic, evocations of a poisonous character, etc. by means of exorcisms either individual (specific actions of her own Members), or collective (general actions on certain dates yearly.)

To this effect, she assumes, in those environments specified above, the diffusion of her own Doctrine as defined below and the recruitment of her listeners and her Ministers by virtue of an incontestable Apostolic succession.

The Eglise Gnostique shows herself to be liberal with regard to the convictions of both her Ministers and her Supporters. She allows them complete and total freedom in the interpretation of scriptural Texts, beliefs and traditions. She even encourages the most daring commentaries on her doctrine and on the ceremonial side of her practice so long as they are expressed within the limits of decency and courtesy. She, however, emphasizes that the minimum and indefectible principle around which all Gnostics should rally in unity of thought is Faith in the Eternal Christ.

Christ, the Anointed one of God, came to reveal to the human Masses what was reserved until then only for a category of initiates: The Law of Love, the key of evolution universally admitted by all Philosophies and by all Religions and which is codified in the first Two Commandments:

- “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your spirit”

- “Love your Neighbor as yourself…”

This Commandment, authoritatively developed by Saint Paul in his first Epistle to the Corinthians (Chapter XV), applied sincerely and whole-heartedly to current life, represents the very real Key of human evolution that permits reaching a Christ-like state. This must be, one day, the state of everyone by which all will be reintegrated into their original Glory.

According to the Principles expressed in the present Declaration, The Eglise du Plérôme must be the church of ALL and not just of a Fraction, she affirms her desire not to ignore those whose spiritual life is distressed who come to her seeking religious order to their lives.

Not looking to propagate the Christian Faith in her esoteric keys in mundane surroundings, she provides an exoteric Christian teaching, reserving, on the other hand, for her Clergy, the study and discussion of the esoteric Principles which are her reason for being. In this, She follows in Christ's example during his terrestrial life: “I will open my mouth in Parables…”; “The hour comes when I will speak no more in Parables….”; “Then, he opened their minds so that they understood the Writings…”. She is, however, very rigorous in the choice of her Ministers whom she never openly recruits and she administers the fundamental Sacraments with a very wide interpretation of the Liturgy used according to the Rituals transmitted from generation unto generation.

A Church of Gnosis, she distribute the Gnostic teachings according to the views of Origen and Clement of Alexandria. A Church of the End of Times, awaiting the Days of the ultimate test, she will justify the apostle's Words “And I will call my People those who were not my People and I will name my Beloved the one that I had not loved."
